Laser Subcomponents
Heat Sinks for 5.6 mm MicroGreen Lasers
Model HS1C-5.6MM heat sink is designed to adapt MicroGreen™ Series laser for mounting into standard laboratory 1” mirror mounts. Convective cooling is sufficient to provide stable laser output performance under normal laboratory ambient conditions.
The rated performance and stability for the MicroGreen™ Series are dependent upon proper heat management. Model HSR2-5.6MM Rectangular Heat Sink is designed to properly hold MicroGreen Series firm and flush against a prepared surface, thus assuring efficient thermal flow from the laser. Natural air convection from the heat sink is sufficient to assure constant and stable operation of MicroGreen lasers.
Model Number: HS1C-5.6MM: 1 inch O.D. circular heat sink
Part Number: HSR2-5.6MM: 5.6mm Rectangular Heat Sink
Heat Sinks for 9.0 mm Lasers
The HS1C-9.0MM heat sink allows a MiniGreen™ laser to be integrated into standard 1” mirror mounts., which provides a convenient method for precise alignment to external optical assemblies. An external fan (not included) is recommended to assist heat convection into air and thereby provide for long-term stable laser operation.
Part Number: HS1C-9.0MM: 9.0mm 1 inch Circular Heat Sink
The rated performance and stability for the MiniGreen™ Series are critically dependent upon proper heat management. Model HSR2-9.0MM Rectangular Heat Sink is designed to properly hold MiniGreen Series firm and flush against a prepared surface, thus assuring efficient thermal flow from the laser. To prevent heat accumulation in the heat sink, it must be positioned in a (forced) airflow or thermally contacted onto a larger heat-spreading volume typically an exterior part of an OEM mechanical design.
Part Number: HSR2-9.0MM: 9.0mm Rectangular Heat Sink
Accessories:
Thermoelectric Cooler
Model TEC-9.0MM Thermoelectric Cooler is designed to control a maximum heat load of up to eight (8) Watt. A maximum temperature differential of 45°C can be maintained with the full heat load of a MiniGreen laser operating at full power (~2.3 W).
Part Number: TEC-9.0MM: Thermoelectric Cooler
Thermistor

Model TM-10K Thermistor is chosen to provide a fast response time in the temperature range of -8°C to + 50°C. The thermistor is ideal for use in conjunction with Model TEC-9.0MM Thermoelectric Cooler.
Part Number: TM-10K: 10 KΩ Thermistor
Power Supplies
Model PS-CW-245 is a miniature DC power supply board designed to power MicroGreen Series with up to 245 mA DC current. The power supply is pigtailed on both ends for easy integration into electronic circuitry and runs off of any 3 Volt batteries or power supply. A potentiometer, located on the top of the board is included for adjusting the current setting.
Model PS-CW-1900 is small DC power supply board, designed to drive any diode or miniature laser up to maximum 1900 mA, including SnakeCreek MiniGreen Series. The board requires an input voltage between 4.5 to 5.5 Volt and up to 700 mA drive current either from a DC power supply or battery. The power supply board is approximately 90% efficient and operates in ambient conditions from -20°C to +85°C.
Model PS-ETR-1900 is small DC power supply board, designed to drive Snake Creek Lasers’ MiniGreen ETR Series miniature laser with PowerLock up to maximum 1900 mA drive current. The board requires an input voltage between 4.5 to 6 Volt and up to 800 mA drive current either from a DC power supply or battery. The power supply board is approximately 90% efficient and operates in ambient conditions from -20°C to +85°C.

Snake Creek Lasers has received a DoD SBIR Phase 1 Award "Compact-Solid-State Deep-Ultraviolet Laser for Raman Detection of Chemical and Biological Agents"
Background: UV Raman spectroscopy has shown the ability to detect and identify chemcial surface threats in near-real time while on-the-move; however the only laser source currently available are Excimer (gas) lasers that require periodic refills of specialized gas. This requirement adds to the logistics burden of the system and reduces its readiness. SnakeCreek, and its partners, will design a small, high power, all solid state laser that emits at 236.5 nm.
